Orlando Sentinel Communications Senior Vice President and Editor Charlotte H. Hall and Vice President and General Manager of Interactive Julie Anderson announced today that OrlandoSentinel.com Editor [and ONA boardmember] Anthony Moor has been promoted to Associate Managing Editor/Online effective immediately. Moor will report to Hall for the editorial content of the Web site and to Anderson for Web site development and growth.

“Anthony has produced outstanding work on OrlandoSentinel.com since joining the company in 2003,” said Hall. “This appointment signifies the vital and growing importance of the Web to our future. One of our goals this year is to accelerate our Web growth and Anthony is a driving force in this. The newsroom will work more closely with Anthony and his team as we move rapidly to develop new Web content, integrate the Web into every phase of our newsgathering and extend our journalism across platforms.”

Anderson noted, “Anthony’s energy and experience in developing Web audiences will help us reach our goal of making OrlandoSentinel.com the community’s No. 1 news and information resource on the Web. He has a diverse background that spans newspapers and broadcast media, which will help us develop content for broadband audiences.”

“I am delighted at the increasing profile of our online operation in Central Florida,” said Moor. “Newspapers are uniquely positioned with a strong, dedicated, local reporting staff and a tradition of accuracy and excellence. We’re bringing reporting to the Web that no other organization can match.”
